Our Vision For The Mission

In The Near Future And In The Long Term:

THE AUDITORIUM

3,000 Square feet with stage, kitchen utilities and seating for 150-200. We have (some things are stored in homes in Rockford, IL and are not kept on the property):

  • Seating: Includes folding metal chairs, plastic scoop chairs, and wood and vinyl backed chairs.  Tables are set up in the eating area near the snack bar. All are mobile and not permanent. We have seating for around two hundred people.

Needs:

  • Several new microphones and stands
  • Refurbishing of hallway floor

This has been used in the past for Gospel concerts. We intend to see this tradition of local musical outreach continue and hopefully be expanded to meet the needs of all age groups. The music would be appropriate to the different groups represented within the Christian body and could provide a much needed place for Christian singles to meet midweek and on weekends other than a secular setting.

Painting and landscape restoration work, including outside and inside entry ways has been accomplished. All of the stored material has been thrown or hauled away and the interior is ready to be used needing only heat and carpenter work on the bathroom walls and kitchen/snack bar area to enclose it. We are done with most of the interior painting and are intending to finish by painting the ceiling white with New England Green trim using paint and scaffolding already onsite.

APOLOGETICS AND PROPHECY CONFERENCES

Seminars on Apologetics and Bible prophecy could be held here featuring top experts in their field.

Beyond music, this facility has the potential to be used for Friday and Saturday night video production including speakers, seminars, conferences and workshops. These speakers would be interviewed on a "Tonight Show" type stage by The Perspective Underground team of Rev. Kevin Johnson and Joel Griffith. The 100-200 person audience would be able to ask questions of these Christian experts. These experts would also be the guests on the radio program as well. The video would be offered to the churches, the ministry of the speaker and would be included in our tape offerings catalog.

We have had top drawer experts on the radio program and as featured speakers at conferences we have sponsored. They have included such well known professors and teachers as Dr. H. Wayne House (former President of The National Evangelical Theological Society and a former professor at the Dallas Theological Seminary) Dr. John Ankerberg, Dr. Ruth Tucker (Trinity Seminary), Dave Hunt, Dr. Gleason Archer (Trinity Seminary), Eric Pement, Senior Editor Cornerstone Magazine, Dr. Timothy Warner, Pat and Caryl Matrisciana (Jeremiah Films) explorer Bob Cornuke, and a host of others.

These programs can be beamed to sattelites and made available to other Christian programs and networks on TV and can be advertised as to when they would be available for download.

We have completely remodeled a guest bedroom for the purpose of hosting these speakers. We have already used this to house several authors and speakers that have addressed our Monday night classes.

Contingent Upon:

  • 12 Churches in the Tri-state area providing an author/speaker with air-fare and a Sunday speaking venue with free-will offering or honorarium or a private donor who would back this on a steady reliable ongoing basis.
  • The heating of the Auditorium.
  • Optional: A budget for transponder use

With the addition of just a few more components we can build a TV studio set as well as record using the stage area that is already in place in the 3,000 square foot auditorium. To put together a new all-digital studio with three cameras, live editing and 13 video duplication units it would cost $40,000.00.

WEDDINGS

The auditorium can also be used for wedding receptions once it is properly renovated. This is a compliment to the quaint stone wedding chapel that can seat about 25 which sits adjacent to it. Rev. Johnson has performed a number of weddings and we would also be willing to allow other evangelical pastors to perform them here.

Recording Studio Contingent Upon: The Completion of current renovations of the Recording Studio building.

To this end we have:

  • dug out and shored up the basement
  • poured several concrete walls where there were none
  • put new roofing on the building (work still needs to be done)
  • acquired ten eight foot ceiling lights
  • painted the interior
  • connected the two sides of the building with stairs

We currently have:

  • 24-channel Yamaha mixer console
  • BGW Studio Amp
  • G4 Computer
  • Bose Monitors

$5,000 - $6,000 needed for the following:

  • additional work on roof and walls
  • flooring
  • carpeting
  • audio tiles
  • drop ceiling
  • lounge furniture
  • control-room partition and window
  • additional $5,000 for recording equipment

RADIO/AUDIO STUDIO

We have been producing our current radio program Perspective Underground in our own studio that we built here at Apple Canyon Christian Center. We hope to continue adding new stations to our syndication team.

Our studio should also enable us to record audio tracts featuring gospel preaching and teaching that will hopefully (Lord willing) be able to be accessed by phone and internet.

RESEARCH LIBRARY

We have many books, and audio and video teaching tapes that have finally been put into a single working research library in one of the buildings. This was put to use for a major project when Joel Griffith, Eric Pement and myself worked here on Dr. H. Wayne House's Cults Charts Book for Zondervan Publishers due out in early 2000.

PUBLISHING BUDGET

We have only been able to put out out journal The Contender on a sporadic basis. Our 42 state mailing list outgrew our ability to consistently produce the newsletter and mail it out to everyone. We are looking for financial backers to help get this out on a monthly basis.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

First of all we need lots of prayer!! In addition to praying, you may have electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or some other talent you could donate to this cause. You may be able to help financially with the cost of building materials or donating building materials. You may be able to sponsor the operating costs for the project the Lord lays on your heart.
