Dear Partner
in Ministry,
Thank you for standing by us so faithfully. We always like
to speak the obvious -we couldn't go on without your faithfulness
to us! The Lord continues to bless the ministry in so many
ways.
ANNUAL BOARD MEETING
We were pleased with our annual board meeting. Everyone was
here with the exception of Dr. H. Wayne House, who expressed
his regrets at not being able to come this year. Don Corp,
a man who has been very involved in building up the mission
property and a nearby local resident, came before us and fielded
questions from the board regarding the property. Our visions
for the ministry property were discussed and reaffirmed. Eric
Pement, board member and senior editor for Cornerstone Magazine,
encouraged us to continue to seek a publications budget that
would allow full use of our national newsletter mailing list.
RADIO
We are very pleased to report that Perspective Underground
is now being broadcast on KOLE AM radio in Beaumont, Texas
(pop.218,000). There are 23 radio staions in the area and
Team Radio has 3 Christian Stations there. The market is considered
a middle market. The signal is AM stereo with an inverted
wave that allows for full coverage similar to FM only with
the long range quality that AM is known for.
We were contacted by the station and offered the 5:00 PM
time slot on Saturdays. The station covers Galveston, and
part of Houston. The signal goes at least a hundred miles
out into the Gulf of Mexico as they hear from oil riggers
out there. The signal carries into Lousiana and the first
town that hears us is Vinton (pop.20,000) If you live, or
know someone who lives, in the area please let them know to
tune us in! Our first broadcast was on Saturday July 17th,
1999, the same day as our annual board meeting.

RECENTLY IN THE MAILBAG:
Dear Mount Carmel Outreach,
As a child growing up, my time was spent in Sunday School,
English Service, Swedish Service, prayer meetings and Bible
study groups. I was a tag-a-long for an old grandfather who
raised me and I never gathered at all these meetings that
there were cults and teachers who would lead me astray from
the faith -warnings about Satan were frequent. Perhaps that
is the reason I'm not as discerning as many at my age of 75.
Thank you for every call you have answered, when I know you
are so busy with important people and important happenings.
And thank you that a ten and twenty dollar bill is welcome.
Thank you again for everything and God bless you.
A Faithful Listener,

Dear Kevin,
This is Ray Pritchard writing from Oak Park. Just a quick
note to say thanks for a wonderful interview last night. I
love the format of the program. Even though we've never met,
it felt like you and I and Joel had known each other for years.
I believe this informal means of communication helps draw
in the listener and engages him at a deep level in the topic
being discussed. I predict you will draw more and more listeners
in the days to come via the Internet."
Cordially Yours,
Pastor Ray Pritchard Author "What
A Christian Believes"
Israel, Turkey and Petra Jordan With Dr. David Allen
Lewis
We are proposing a tour to Israel, Lord willing, this Fall
with Dr. David Allen Lewis, President of Christians United
For Israel. David is one of the most beloved Evangelicals
in Israel. He has proven his devotion to the well being of
the nation of Israel time and time again. David has a daughter
and son-in-law living in Jerusalem and his tours are always
packed with exciting information and wonderful accomodations.
Last year we had 90 people and two tour buses when I co-led
a tour with Pastor Larry Marvel. You can read a letter I recieved
from a couple who were on my bus by clicking here.
My participation as a co-leader of the tour is contingent
on having enough people go to help defray the costs of travel
for me and my wife and/or one of my sons. Last year we had
ninety people go which was more than enough to cover the costs
on my end. We need at least ten people to go this year. Without
much advertising or any mailings we already have two who have
said they are going. If you wish a brochure explaining the
tour you may write to us and ask for one. If you are reading
this on our website you may click here
for a complete itinerary of the trip. If you are reading this
elsewhere our website address is www.contender.org where you
can find the itinerary. You must write for the dates and times
however.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- Please continue to pray for our general fund, property
improvement fund and publications fund.
- Pray for a man who is witnessing to members of the Bahais.
- Pray for young and old people who heard the Gospel and
an exposition of 1 Corinthians 15 at Kings camp.
- Pray for a Christian man who is still struggling with
financial problems and some bitterness brought on by his
being given bad stewardship advice in a hyper-faith church
setting as a young man.
- Pray for Bob as he ministers to two Mormon missionaries.
- Pray for a Christian married couple who are working through
the after effects of an affair.
- Pray for a prisoner who has a burden for Jehovah's Witnesses
and wants our involvement in helping him create a special
outreach program. He murdered someone twelve years ago but
has since become a Christian. Pray for wisdom for all involved.
- Pray for our new affiliate KOLE radio that God would
cause the right messages to reach the right people who need
to hear them in Texas and Louisiana.
- Pray for the ministry's transportation needs ie: a new
van. The van we have was quite old when we got it having
had around 90,000 miles on it then two years ago -when it
was new (well, it was to us)! We put roughly 400 miles a
week on it and it is already needing quite a few repairs.
- Pray for God's protection and leading for this ministry
and for all of our health.
- Pray God would continue to strengthen Dr. David Allen
Lewis as he recovers from bad back problems.
Thank all of you for your continued help in this ministry.
It is truly a privilege to be able to represent our Lord's
concerns together. Without your faithfulness we couldn't go
on! God is good as He moves His people to fulfill His will.
In His Service Gladly,
Kevin
