On Recommendations:
by Rev. Kevin S. Johnson
Recently I read a well intentioned comment from a well known
author regarding "taking honor from one another in the
church." The gist was that we should not allow praise
from others because we lose our rewards in Heaven. I found
it a little amusing because in his newsletters and on the
cover of his books are recommendations and praises of his
ministry either contained in "letters to the editor"
or in endorsements of his books on the covers. In fact, I
was approached by this same man's publisher to write a recommendation
for one of his books, which I gladly did because I believed
in what he had written.
His admonishment is well taken though if what he means is
that our motives for service must never be unrighteous gain
or the praises of men. If we live for the praises of men then
we are in violation of Scripture and are committing the sin
of idolatry. Most Christian ministries that take tough stands
are unpopular and hated by most people. Thus, if living for
the praises of the world were what motivated you, disappointment
and discouragment would be your constant unhappy lot in life.
We mustn't live for the praises of the Church either for the
same reasons.
There is a different reason for sharing praise and background
information including honors that the world bestows. These
things may mean opened doors for the Gospel. The Apostle Paul
made mention and use of an honor bestowed on him by the pagan
world in the form of his Roman citizenship. This actually
allowed him to preach in Rome to the Pretorian guard of Caesar
(see Acts 25:11-28:19).
On this website is a lot of background information for the
purpose of allowing you to get to know us. We provide the
following recommendations of our ministry in the same way
a builder would provide affidavits or letters of testimony
to the efficacy of his workmanship to someone who may want
to avail himself of his services. We live in a fallen world
where this sort of thing is necessary to establish credibility.
Even the Apostle Paul found it necessary to speak about the
merits of his ministry (1 Corinthians 9:1,2; 2 Corinthians
12:12) and he also spoke of his background Phi. 3:5).
We are sinners saved by grace and any good
thing we have done is the result of the intervention of God
through His Gospel and His Holy Spirit. All good deeds, therefore,
ultimately goes to His credit and not ours ("Where then
is boasting?..."Romans 3:27). We believe the five crowns
mentioned in Scripture can be earned only through the grace
of God working through us ("Work out your own salvation
in all fear and trembling for it is God Who is at
work in you both to will and to do His good pleasure."
Phil. 2:13 -emphasis ours). The crowns ultimately belong to
God! I see them being thrown at His feet in the book of Revelation
as only a fitting recognition of this fact (see Rev. 4:10).
We offer this entire website as a way for you to get to know
us and what we stand for. We hopefully do this in the spirit
of what Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 "Let
your light so shine before men, that they see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven." We
hope it helps you think through some of the pressing issues
of our time and moves you to join with us in the great evangelistic
and apologetics endeavor we are all called to undertake (See
Phil. 3:17).

. . . On the Culture War:
"Well Prepared..Right At The Top"
I have done about 250 radio and television shows...When a
host is well prepared and is able to ask worthwhile questions
and make worthwhile comments the programs go well. I would
say that of all them I have done since 1993, Kevin's is right
at the top. He and his co-host Joel Griffith, have great on-air
personalities and interact very well with each other and their
guests. The on-air time passed very quickly indeed, and was
both very enjoyable and very informative.
I whole-heartedly give them my recommendation!
Sincerely Yours,

"Listener Engaged At A Deep Level"
Kevin,
This is Ray Pritchard writing from Oak Park. Just a quick
note to say thanks for a wonderful interview last night. I
love the format of the program. Even though we've never met,
it felt like you and I and Joel had known each other for years.
I believe this informal means of communication helps draw
in the listener and engages him at a deep level in the topic
being discussed. I predict you will draw more and more listeners
in the days to come via the Internet."
Cordially Yours,
Pastor Ray Pritchard Author "What
A Christian Believes"
. . . On the Family:
"Fast Paced And Hard Hitting"
Dear Kevin,
I believe we covered a tremendous amount of ground in the
allotted time. I think this was due in great measure to the
format of your program, and the excellent interviewing abilities
and "chemistry" of both yourself and Joel Griffith.
I feel that we covered a substantial amount of information
critical to the parents in your listening audience, and that
the interview was both fast-paced and hard-hitting on the
core issues. I look forward to hearing more about the expansion
of this very important ministry."

. . .On AIDS:
"Professional Approach"
Dear Kevin and Joel,
I have been on your program a number of times. I want to
congratulate you on your professional approach to interviews,
and for the fine work that you are doing spreading the Gospel
of Jesus Christ. I would recommend your program without hesitation..and
hope you will be able to expand your radio ministry..

"Equals Network Excellence"
Many of the hundreds of Christian programs on which I have
been a guest are broadcast nationally over CBN, Jubilee, Moody,
Southern Baptist and other networks. I want you to know that
PERSPECTIVE UNDERGROUND equals these programs in excellence!
-Robert W. Faid, Author of A Scientific
Approach To Biblical Mysteries
. . .On Satanism/The Occult:
"Informative and Balanced"
....As an author and national speaker, I am concerned that
Christians be both Biblical and balanced. Kevin comes across
with a double portion of both. Also on the plus side, we were
able to laugh together over the air.
-Wendell Amstutz, author of Exposing
Satan and Associates
. . .On The New Age Movement:
"Like A Good Friend"
When interviewers are unfamiliar with the subject I am asked
to address (which happens often), it becomes almost impossible
to have a good dialogue. In contrast, talking with you was
like having an interesting discussion with a good friend who
shares my concerns and fights the same battles. May our wonderful
Sovereign Lord continue to bless you and your vital ministry.
-Berit Kjos, Author of Under The Spell
Of Mother Earth
. . .On Problems In The Church:
"Provocative and Relevant"
I would like to personally recommend the ministry of Kevin
and Joel. The radio program is fast-paced, provocative and
relevant to the society in which we live.

Dear Perspective Underground,
I really love your show on the internet; however, there seems
to be a delay in the timeliness of radio shows posted to the
internet.
I MISS THE SHOW! Is there any possibility of getting shows
on the internet sooner?
Sincerely,

I tremendously enjoy the program Perspective Underground...The
information that I receive on Joel and Kevin's program blesses
me and encourages me in the deep things of God. Without this
program I probably would never hear anything regarding the
topics they discuss. But because of this program a new door
of information has become available to me as well as being
directed to material from other ministries they discuss.
Evangelist Rick Deadmond
Thanks for the interview with David Limbaugh,
His web site is very hot....Great service and resource.
Keep it up!

Dear Kevin and Joel:
I try to listen to all of your shows on audiocentral. They
are all
great. I hope that you can keep them coming. Keep up the
good work.
Thanks!
Steve
I'm in Los Angeles and listen to Audiocentral most of the
day while I'm working. I appreciate your readiness to cover
relevant issues and not dwell on overly "touchy-feely"/feel
good topics...
Anyway, keep up the good work
Scott
Dear Mount Carmel Outreach,
As a child growing up, my time was spent in Sunday School,
English Service, Swedish Service-prayer meetings and Bible
study groups. I was a tag-a-long for an old grandfather who
raised me and I never gathered at all these meetings that
there were cults and teachers who would lead me astray from
the faith -warnings about Satan were frequent. Perhaps that
is the reason I'm not as discerning as many at my age of 75.
Thank you for every call you have answered, when I know you
are so busy with important people and important happenings.
And thank you that a ten and twenty dollar bill is welcome.
Thank you again for everything and God bless you.
A Faithful Listener,
