Mount Carmel Outreach's efforts to inform and instruct the people of God and to vigorously challenge false teaching are much needed. Their commitment to doing so "with gentleness and respect" (1 Peter 3:15) toward both the lost and to fellow believers is an example well worth following. I gladly encourage your prayers and support for Mount Carmel Outreach, and commend this fine ministry to you.

The Rockford Conference On Discernment And Evangelism

A number of prominent national leaders attended The Rockford Conference On Discernment And Evangelism, sponsored by MCO/Mount Carmel Outreach, EMNR/Evangelical Ministries To New Religions, TV 38 in Chicago, First Evangelical Free Church and WQFL Radio in Rockford, IL.This was the largest conference of its kind ever held in the history of the Midwest. Here is what some major participants had to say about Mount Carmel Outreach and The Institute For Christian Apologetics. They spoke these words in videotaped interviews done at the time of the conference:

The ministry of Mount Carmel Outreach is important for this reason: not only is it an organization that gives us information which is available out there, and MCO continues to do that but secondly what Mount Carmel is interested in is giving us a handle on how these cults can be combatted. It is one thing to know about them. It is another thing to know what is happening and what the Christian Church should do about them.
- Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Senior Pastor of Moody Memorial Church

Dr. Lutzer was a plenary speaker at the conference. He and Rev. Johnson have also both appeared together in Chicago on TV 38's Among Friends program to discuss the occult.

I've been impressed with seeing the people who are on the Board of Mount Carmel Outreach and the team of people working with it and Kevin Johnson as leader. I believe that creatively, in this information age, Mount Carmel Outreach is taking the information that is desperately needed to the people who are unreached...I believe that an investment in Mount Carmel Outreach will pay dividends not only for time but for eternity. I praise God for Mount Carmel Outreach and would urge people to stand with it in outreach to the world today.
- Dr. Gordon Lewis, Professor Emeritus (retired) at Denver Seminary: former President of EMNR and author of Confronting The Cults.

Dr. Lewis, Eric Pement and Rev. Kevin Johnson were the steering committee for the Rockford Conference On Discernment and Evangelism.
